Cool Education Blogs

I found this to be a very interesting article and a good topic for discussion with some friends.  I don't agree with the author that a four year old should play with an i-phone.  My friend pointed out that a child should not be staring at a screen for so long at such an early age and I agree.  I am heartily for teaching children to learn with technology, but I do not think that giving them an i-phone is the best way that they can learn.

Beginning of Semester Reflection

I have always loved working with kids, but my desire to become a teacher started when I was hired as a lifeguard and swim instructor.  I really enjoyed working with the students and teaching them how to swim.  I really enjoyed watching the students start out as beginner swimmers and then progress to swimming the length of the pool.  It is also fun to see the students’ reaction when they finally understand a concept that we had been working on for a little while.  To watch the students’ progress and have fun while learning is a very exciting aspect of teaching.  As a teacher I would love to teach grades kindergarten through third.
In this class, Technology in Education, I wish to learn how to integrate all the new technology with the curriculum that I will be using within the classroom.  I’m excited to read through the blogs of other teachers, in order to see the different experiences that other educators encounter.  As well as, the articles concerning technology and how it can be applied in a teaching environment.
